How do I use the MONA Clipper to save products from any website?

Quick answer: Add the MONA Clipper from the Chrome Web Store, sign in with the email code you use for monaverse.com, then open any product page and click the MONA icon. A side panel fills in the title, price, brand, retailer, SKU, dimensions, description, and photos from the page. Check the fields, pick where it goes, and click Save to MONA. The product is in your library, or on a project schedule, in one click.

Because the Clipper reads the page in your own browser, it works on trade portals you are signed in to and on retailer sites that block automated tools, and it captures the pricing only you can see.

Before you start

• Use Chrome. The Clipper is a Chrome extension. Chromium browsers that install from the Chrome Web Store, such as Microsoft Edge, Brave, and Arc, work too. Safari and Firefox cannot run it.
• Studio plan. Clipped products live in the Products library, which is part of the Studio plan. On Pro, you can still paste product links into MONA or hand them to the agent in chat.
• Updates are automatic. Chrome installs new Clipper versions as they clear review. Room and trade pickers for schedule rows, multi-photo clips, and the optional browser-time feature are in the next update and will appear in your panel by themselves.

How do I install the MONA Clipper?

1. Add it to Chrome. Open the MONA Clipper on the Chrome Web Store and click Add to Chrome, then Add extension.
2. Pin it. Click the puzzle-piece Extensions button to the right of the address bar and click the pin next to MONA Clipper. The MONA icon now stays on your toolbar.
3. Sign in. Click the MONA icon on any page. The Clipper opens as a side panel next to the page. Enter the email address you use for monaverse.com, click Send code, type the 6-digit code MONA emails you, and click Verify and sign in. It is the same sign-in as the website, with no separate password.

The panel stays signed in. If a session ever expires, sign in again and the clip you were working on is kept.

How do I clip a product?

1. Open the product page on any vendor or retailer site.
2. Click the MONA icon. The side panel reads the page and fills in Title, Price, Brand / maker, Retailer, SKU, Dimensions, Description, and the Photos strip. The vendor name comes from the page or, failing that, from the site address. If you move to another product with the panel open, click Fill from current page.
3. Check the fields. Everything is editable before you save. Add a Category such as Rug or Sconce, and fill in Colour, Finish, and Materials if the page did not offer them. The Product link is saved with the clip; swap in a commission or affiliate link if you use one.
4. Pick the photo. Click the image you want from the Photos strip. See the next section for your own photos.
5. Choose where it goes. Under Save to, leave Library to file the product in your team library, or pick a project to add it to that project's schedule as well.
6. Click Save to MONA. The product saves immediately. MONA then enriches it in the background with materials, finishes, and specs; the panel says "still enriching" if you look before it finishes, and the card in MONA updates on its own. Click Clip another to move to the next product.

What if the page has no usable photo?

Some vendor sites hide their images from the page or show a watermark. The Photos strip has two ways around it:

• Upload photos adds an image from your computer, for example a tear sheet or a photo you took at the showroom.
• Screen grab captures what is on screen right now. Scroll the product image into view first.

Either one becomes the product photo instead of the page's own images.

How do I clip a rug or fabric priced per square foot?

Unit-priced items are the ones that usually end up wrong on a schedule, so the Clipper does the math for you.

1. Set the price unit. When a page lists a per-unit price, the Per menu next to Price is set for you. Otherwise choose Sq ft, Sq yd, Sq m, Linear ft, or Yard.
2. Enter the size you need. A size block appears. Type the width and length in feet, inches, centimetres, or metres, or the yards you need for fabric and trim.
3. Check the total. The panel shows the calculation, for example 108 sq ft x $84.00 = $9,072.00. That total is the price it saves, the size is written into the dimensions, and a pricing note is added to the description so anyone reading the schedule can see how the number was reached. The Clipper will not save a unit-priced item until the total can be calculated, so a wrong number never reaches a schedule.
4. Save to a project. The schedule row keeps this price. Clipping the same rug at another size for a different project does not change it.

What happens when I clip something I already have?

MONA recognizes a product URL you have saved before. The If already in library setting at the bottom of the form decides what happens:

• Update existing product refreshes the price, photo, and details on the card you already have. Use this when a price changed or you found a better image.
• Save as new variant creates a separate card linked to the original. Use this for a second colourway, finish, or size.

The choice is remembered between clips.

How do I see a clipped product in a room?

Once a clip has saved, a Visualize in room section appears at the bottom of the panel. Expand it, choose one of the room photos already in your MONA library, optionally describe the placement, for example "against the far wall", and click Render. The render appears in the panel and is saved to your library like any other render, so you can show a client a piece in their space before it is ever ordered. If you have no room photos yet, upload one in MONA and come back.

Which sites work?

Almost all of them. The Clipper reads structured product data that most retailers publish, and falls back to the visible page when they do not. Because your browser does the reading, it works on:

• Trade portals behind a login, with the trade pricing and configured options you can see.
• Retailers that block automated tools, which the paste-a-URL importer in MONA cannot always reach.
• Configured products, so the size, fabric, or finish you chose is what gets saved.

Chrome's own pages (the new tab page, settings, the Web Store) cannot be read. If a product page comes through with empty fields, type the details in, screen grab the photo, and let MONA enrich the rest after you save.

What the Clipper collects

The Clipper reads a page only when you click the MONA icon or Fill from current page, and sends only what is in the panel to your own MONA account. Your sign-in token is stored locally in Chrome. It asks to read website data because designers source from thousands of vendor sites, so the list cannot be fixed in advance. Nothing runs in the background unless you turn on the optional Track browser time for MONA switch, which is off by default and described in How does MONA track my time automatically?.
