How do I build a client presentation deck in MONA Slides?

Click Slides, then Create a deck or a template. Add renders, products and text, mark prices Studio only, then Share a view-only link or Download as PDF. Or ask MONA to build it.

Quick answer: Click Slides in the sidebar (or the Slides tab inside a project), then Create a deck or pick a template. Lay out renders, products, and text page by page, mark prices and lead times Studio only, switch to Client view, and click Share for a view-only link or Download as PDF. You can also ask MONA to build the whole deck from the project.

MONA Slides is the deck editor for client presentations, design concept decks, spec books, and moodboards, similar to Canva but connected to your projects, renders, and FF&E schedule. It is on every plan.

How do I start a deck?

  • From a project (recommended): open the project, click the Slides tab, then New deck. A deck started here is filed under the project.
  • From the Slides page: click Slides in the sidebar, then Create a deck, or pick one under Start from a template: Noir Pitch, Editorial Serif, Launch Day, or a moodboard layout (Gallery Grid, Collage, Color Story, Dark Atelier, Editorial). The template photos are placeholders to replace.
  • From the New menu: click New at the top of the sidebar and choose Slides deck.
  • From your studio standard: if you set one in Settings › Brand, it appears as Your studio standard.

How do I build the pages?

The left rail has five panels:

  • Design: apply a template to every page at once, or hover a template page and choose Apply to current page.
  • Elements: shapes and lines.
  • Text: Add a heading, Add a subheading, or body text.
  • Uploads: Upload files, then drag images onto a page. You can also paste a screenshot or drop images straight onto a slide.
  • Products: search your Library and add product photos (below).

Select any picture to get its toolbar: Replace ("Replace the picture, keep the frame"), Crop, Fill or Fit, Remove BG, flip, corner radius, Transparency, and Add link. To swap a photo without redoing the layout, drop a new image from your computer or the Uploads panel right onto the old one.

Click Hide panels in the bottom bar for more room. Edits save automatically ("All changes saved").

How do I add products with prices and lead times?

  1. Open the Products panel and search. Items from the deck's project are listed first under This project.
  2. Leave Add name, vendor and price ticked and click a product. The photo lands linked to the product's store page, with a caption of name, vendor, and price.
  3. Add lead time or notes as text if you want them on the page.

Keep studio details out of the client copy:

  1. Select the price, lead time, or any element the client should not see and click Studio only. It gets a dashed tag.
  2. Flip the deck toggle in the top bar from Studio view to Client view. The share link, Present, and the PDF now drop every Studio only element and strip links, brands, and SKUs. Your Studio view keeps everything, so one deck serves both audiences.

To start every new deck in Client view, go to Settings › Brand › Presentation defaults and turn on New decks start in client view.

How do I review and reorder every page?

Click Grid in the bottom bar ("Grid view: every page at once"). Drag tiles to reorder, click + between tiles to add a page there, or select tiles to Duplicate, Hide from presentation, or Delete. Hidden pages stay in the editor but are left out of Present, the PDF, and the share link.

Can MONA build the deck for me?

Yes. In Ask MONA, click + and choose Client presentation, or just say "build a client presentation for the Hudson project." MONA gathers the project's renders, key pieces from the schedule, and your brand fonts and colors, and builds a cover, a page per room, a materials or palette page, and a next-steps page. When MONA adds prices and lead times, it marks them Studio only for you. It returns the deck link and never shares it on its own.

You can also tag MONA in a deck comment ("Leave a note, @ to tag a teammate or MONA") to change a page.

How do I share, present, or export the deck?

  • Share a link: click Share, choose Anyone with the link can view, and click Copy link. No MONA account is needed. You can also turn on Show in the project's client portal from the same panel. Re-sharing creates a new link, and archiving a deck pauses its link.
  • Present: click Present for full screen, or Presenter view and Open the audience window to keep your view while the client sees Client view.
  • PDF: click the PDF button, choose File, then Download as PDF, or press Command P. Pages export at presentation size with sharp text and working links (links are stripped in Client view).
  • Status: click Draft and choose Mark as final when the client has the approved version.

The File menu also has Duplicate deck, Archive deck, and Delete deck….

What it does not do (yet)

  • No PowerPoint export. Share the link or send the PDF. Importing works: Import PowerPoint (.pptx up to 150 MB) and Import Google Slides.
  • No client comments on the share link. Clients view; your team comments in the editor.
  • No live co-editing cursors. Edits save automatically, and changes MONA makes appear live.
  • Lead time is not added automatically from the Products panel; type it or ask MONA.

Frequently asked questions

Is MONA Slides like Canva for interior designers?

Yes. It is a page-by-page deck editor with templates, drag-and-drop images, text, shapes, crop, background removal and a grid view, plus things Canva does not have: products pulled from your Library and schedule with prices, a Studio only flag for details the client should not see, and the MONA agent building decks for you.

Can MONA build the presentation for me?

Yes. In Ask MONA, click + and choose Client presentation, or just ask. MONA pulls the project’s renders, key pieces from the schedule and your brand fonts and colors, builds a cover, a page per room, a materials page and a next-steps page, and returns the deck link. It does not share it until you say so.

How do I hide prices or lead times from the client?

Select the element and click Studio only. Then switch the deck’s toggle to Client view. The share link, Present and the PDF drop every Studio only element and strip links, brands and SKUs, while your Studio view keeps everything.

Can I export a MONA Slides deck to PDF or PowerPoint?

PDF, yes: use the PDF button, File, then Download as PDF, or Command P. PowerPoint export is not available. You can import PowerPoint files and Google Slides decks into MONA Slides as editable decks.

Can my client comment on the deck?

Not on the share link. Clients can view and click through it. Comments in the editor are for your studio: pin a note on a page and tag a teammate or MONA.

How do I replace a photo but keep the layout?

Select the picture and click Replace, or drop a new image from your computer or the Uploads panel onto it. The frame keeps its position, size, rounded corners, fit, flip and link.

Is Slides included in every plan?

Yes. Slides is on every plan, and building decks by hand uses no credits, including Remove BG. Asking the MONA agent to build or edit a deck uses credits like any chat.

Can I import an existing PowerPoint or Google Slides deck?

Yes. On the Slides page or a project’s Slides tab, click Import PowerPoint and choose a .pptx file up to 150 MB, or click Import Google Slides and paste the link after connecting Google. Charts, SmartArt and video do not come across yet, and MONA tells you how many were left out.
