Can I mark up a render to show MONA where I want things placed?
Yes. Draw directly on the image with Region Edit's outline tool or Precision Edit's brush, and MONA applies your instruction exactly where you drew.
Yes. Instead of describing a location in words, you draw it. Outline the spot with Region Edit or paint it with Precision Edit's brush, then write what you want there. MONA applies the instruction inside the area you marked and leaves everything else untouched.
Designers tend to love this because it works the way you already think: point at the spot, say what goes there.
Outline an area with Region Edit
- Open your render and choose Region edit in the Studio header.
- Click around the area to place the points of an outline. The boundary shows as a moving dashed line as you go.
- Press Enter to close the outline. Backspace removes the last point, Esc cancels.
- Type the instruction: "put a floor lamp here," "add a large framed landscape print," "replace this with a round side table."
- Optionally attach a reference image, either From Library or Upload, and MONA will match that specific piece rather than inventing one.
Paint an area with Precision Edit
Precision Edit works the same way with a brush instead of an outline: paint a mask over the area, write the instruction, choose an edit strength, and go. It is the right tool when the area is irregular or when you want to control how strong the change is. Precision Edit is a Studio plan feature.
Why this beats describing positions in text
"To the left of the sofa, but not too close to the window" is ambiguous. A drawn outline is not. Marking the image directly removes the whole category of back-and-forth where the AI put the right thing in the wrong place.
Frequently asked questions
Does the rest of the image stay the same? Yes. Both tools regenerate only the marked area and composite it back onto the original. Outside your marking, every pixel is unchanged.
Can I use a product photo as the reference? Yes. Attach any image from your Library or upload one on the spot, and MONA will place that piece in the outlined area.
What if the result is not right? Run the edit again with a tighter outline or a more specific instruction, or open the asset history to step back. No version is lost.
