How do I find anything in MONA?

Press Command K on a Mac or Ctrl K on Windows to search notes, files, email, meetings, chats, contacts, schedules, tasks, and money in one box. Or just ask MONA in a chat.

Quick answer: Press Command K on a Mac or Ctrl K on Windows from any page (or click Search in the top bar) and type. One box searches notes, files, email, meetings, chats, contacts, schedules, tasks, and money across everything your studio has put into MONA. If you would rather describe what you are looking for, ask MONA in a chat and it will find it.

How do I search everything at once?

  1. Press Command K (Mac) or Ctrl K (Windows) on any page. On a large screen you can also click Search in the top bar.
  2. Type what you remember: a client name, a vendor, a phrase from an email, a room.
  3. Narrow it down with the filters across the top:
    • All
    • Notes
    • Files
    • Meetings
    • Chats
    • Email & calendar
    • People (contacts and companies)
    • Schedules & tasks
    • Money (estimates, proposals, invoices)
  4. Use the up and down arrow keys and press Enter, or click a result. It opens where it lives: a meeting opens on its meeting page, an email opens the full thread with attachments.

Each result shows what kind of item it is, the project it belongs to, the date, and the words that matched. You can also pin a chat to the top of your chat list straight from a search result.

What does search not cover?

  • Library products. Open Library and use Search your library at the top of the page.
  • Projects as a list. Projects show up as context on results. To jump to a project, open Projects from the left menu.
  • Wiki pages. The Wiki has its own Search the wiki box above the page tree.
  • Chat titles. On the full Ask MONA page, the Search chats box filters your chat list by name.

Search only shows what you are allowed to see:

  • Your personal notebook and personal notes are private to you.
  • You find your own chats. Owners and admins can also find teammates' chats, unless a chat is set to Only me.
  • Money results only show for roles with financial access.

Can I just ask MONA to find something?

Yes, and for fuzzy questions it is often faster. Open Ask MONA and ask in plain words:

  • "Find the quote Four Hands sent for the Hudson project."
  • "What did we decide about the kitchen tile on the last call with the Chens?"
  • "Which invoices are still unpaid this month?"

MONA searches your files, email, meetings, notes, and finances, answers the question, and points you to where it found the answer. Connected email and calendars must be linked in Settings, then Integrations for MONA to search them.
