How do I control MONA notifications and push alerts?
Everything lands in the bell at the top of MONA. Go to Settings, then Notifications, to send it to this browser or your iPhone as push alerts. Push is on by default on Pro and up.
Quick answer: every MONA notification lands in the bell at the top of the app. To get them as desktop or phone alerts, go to Settings, then Notifications, and switch on Desktop notifications on this browser (or Notifications on this iPhone in the MONA app). On Pro, Studio, Unlimited, and Enterprise, push is on by default; your browser just has to allow it once.
What shows up in the bell?
The bell sits in the top bar on every page, with a count of anything you have not seen. Click it to open the list. Notifications are marked read as they scroll into view, and clicking one takes you straight to what it is about.
Things that ring the bell include:
- A client approves, comments in the portal, signs a proposal or contract, or pays an invoice
- A teammate @mentions you in team chat, in a comment, or in a team note on a MONA chat
- A task is assigned to you
- MONA finishes work you asked for, has a question for you, or a render or post fails
- A scheduled agent finishes a run (if you asked to hear about it)
- Your studio is low on credits (owners and admins)
The bell keeps everything even when push is off. Push is only a copy of the same notification on your desktop or phone.
How do I turn on desktop push notifications?
- Click your profile photo, then your name at the top of the menu, to open Settings. Pick Notifications in the settings menu.
- Under Push notifications, switch on Desktop notifications on this browser. If you see Allow notifications instead, your plan already has push on; click it.
- When your browser asks whether monaverse.com may show notifications, click Allow.
- Click Send a test notification to check it works. The browser now appears under Your devices, with when it was last seen.
Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on a computer all support it. You can also turn it on from the bell itself: when push is off, the top of the list shows Get these on your desktop with a Turn on button.
Which plans have push on by default?
On Pro, Studio, Unlimited, and Enterprise (and the older Premium plan), push is on by default. Settings, then Notifications, says On by default for your plan, and MONA shows a banner, Notifications are on for your plan, with an Allow button. Browsers only show notifications after you click once to allow them, so that one click is still needed. Not now hides the banner for a week.
On the Free plan, push works the same way, but you switch it on yourself.
How do I get notifications on my iPhone?
- Open the MONA iPhone app and go to Settings, then Notifications.
- Switch on Notifications on this iPhone and tap Allow when iOS asks.
- If the status says Blocked, open iPhone Settings, then MONA, then Notifications, turn on Allow Notifications, and come back.
If the app says it cannot receive notifications yet, install the latest build of the app. More on the app, which is in testing and not in the App Store yet, in the MONA iPhone app.
How do I turn push off?
- On one device: in Settings, then Notifications, switch the toggle off on that browser or iPhone. Other devices keep getting alerts.
- Meeting reminders only: if you set up meeting reminders earlier, the status may say Meeting reminders only. Switch on the toggle to get everything, or click Turn off meeting reminders here.
- Everywhere: switch it off on each device listed under Your devices, or block notifications for monaverse.com in your browser settings.
How do I control how often MONA notifies me?
Push is all or nothing per device, but you can quiet the two noisiest sources.
Scheduled agent runs. In Settings, then Profile (click your profile photo, then your name), find Scheduled agent runs and pick:
| Setting | What you get |
|---|---|
| Every run | A notification after every run, even one that found nothing to do, with a push each time. |
| Changes only | A bell when a run changed something or failed. Pushes only when a run needs you: a question or a failure. |
| Never | No notifications for scheduled runs. Failures are still recorded. |
Each agent on the Agents page can override your default. See How do I schedule recurring tasks for MONA?.
Team chat. Every channel and direct message has a Notify me about setting: Mentions and replies (the default) or Every message. See How does team chat work in MONA?.
Tasks. Comments and changes on tasks you follow collect in the Inbox on the Tasks page, where Mark all read and Archive all clear them in one click. See How do I manage tasks and deadlines in MONA?.
What it does not do (yet)
- There is no per-category switch (for example, push for client approvals but not for renders). Every device that is on gets every bell notification.
- There are no quiet hours inside MONA. Use your computer’s Focus or Do Not Disturb, or iPhone Focus, to silence alerts at night.
- Push from MONA never reaches your clients. They hear from you by email and through the client portal.

Frequently asked questions
Which plans get push notifications on by default?
Pro, Studio, Unlimited, and Enterprise, plus the older Premium plan. On those plans every bell notification is sent to your devices as soon as your browser or iPhone allows it. On the Free plan push is available too; you switch it on yourself in Settings, then Notifications.
Why am I not getting desktop notifications?
Usually the browser blocked them. Settings, then Notifications, will say Blocked. Open the site settings for monaverse.com (the icon left of the address bar), allow notifications, and reload. Also check that your computer’s own Do Not Disturb or Focus mode is off.
Can I get push on more than one device?
Yes. Each browser and each iPhone is switched on separately and listed under Your devices in Settings, then Notifications. Every device that is on gets every notification.
Can I turn off certain kinds of notifications?
Not one by one today. Push is all or nothing per device. You can quiet scheduled agent runs (Every run, Changes only, or Never), and in team chat each conversation has a Notify me about setting: Mentions and replies, or Every message.
Does MONA email me too?
For a few things. If a teammate assigns you a task or @mentions you in team chat while you are offline, you also get an email. Most other notifications stay in the bell and on your devices.
How do I mark notifications as read?
Open the bell. Notifications are marked read as they scroll into view, and the count on the bell drops. Click any notification to jump to the task, chat, document, or render it is about.
Do clients get push notifications from MONA?
No. Push is for you and your team. Clients hear from you through email, the client portal, and share links.
Does turning off push stop notifications in the bell?
No. The bell always keeps the full list. Push only controls whether a copy also appears on your desktop or phone.
