How do I delete my MONA account?

Open Settings, then Profile, scroll to Delete account, type DELETE and confirm. You are signed out everywhere, any paid plan is canceled, and your personal data is deleted within 30 days.

Quick answer: on monaverse.com, click your profile picture, click your @username to open Settings, then Profile, scroll to Delete account, type DELETE and confirm. You are signed out on every device straight away, any paid plan you own is canceled so you are not charged again, and your personal data is deleted within 30 days.

If you only want to stop paying, you do not need to delete anything. Canceling your plan keeps your projects and moves your studio to the Free plan.

Who can delete an account?

Anyone with a MONA login can delete their own account. It works on every plan, including Free, and for owners, admins and members alike. You can only delete your own account, not a teammate’s. To remove a teammate from your studio, an owner or admin does that from Settings, then Team. See How do team seats, roles, and shared credits work?.

How do I delete my account on the web?

  1. Click your profile picture in the top right corner.
  2. Click the top row of the menu, the one with your @username. That opens Settings, then Profile. You can also click Settings and pick Profile in the left rail.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the page to the red Delete account section and click Delete account.
  4. Read the Delete your account? dialog. It lists exactly what happens:
    • You will be signed out on every device, including this one.
    • You will lose access to your MONA account right away.
    • Your personal data will be deleted within 30 days.
    • If you pay for a plan, it will be canceled so you are not charged again.
  5. Type DELETE in the box. Capital letters are not required. The red Delete account button turns on.
  6. Click Delete account. You land on a page titled Your account deletion request was received.

Changed your mind before step 6? Click Cancel and nothing happens.

How do I delete my account in the iPhone app?

  1. In the MONA app, tap your profile picture in the top right. If you are on the chat screen and do not see it, switch to another tab first.
  2. Choose Account settings. The Account screen shows who is signed in, a Log out button and the Delete account section.
  3. Tap Delete account, type DELETE, and tap Delete account again.

The app clears this phone’s push notifications, signs you out, and shows the same request received screen.

What happens after I confirm?

Right away:

  • You are signed out everywhere. Every browser and phone where you were signed in loses access, including the MONA iPhone app.
  • Your login stops working. Signing in with that email no longer opens the account.
  • Recurring tasks pause. Anything you scheduled MONA to do on a repeat stops running. See How do I schedule MONA to do a task every day or week?.

Within 30 days:

  • A paid plan you own is canceled so it does not renew.
  • Your personal data is deleted.

MONA does not send a confirmation email when you delete. The request received page is the confirmation. If you have questions, email hello@monaverse.com from the address on the account.

Do I need to cancel my subscription first?

No. The deletion request covers it: a paid plan on a studio you own is canceled so you are not charged again.

There are two reasons you might cancel yourself first:

  • You want billing to stop today, not at some point in the 30-day window. The studio owner can click their profile picture, choose Manage Subscription, and cancel in the billing portal.
  • You only want to stop paying. Canceling moves the studio to the Free plan and keeps every project, file and client record. You can come back later and pick up where you left off.

If you are a member of someone else’s studio, your seat is billed to that studio’s owner, not to you, so there is nothing for you to cancel.

What happens to my studio’s work?

Your teammates keep their own accounts. Deleting your account does not remove other people from the studio, and it does not sign them out.

If you own a studio that other people still use, email hello@monaverse.com before you delete. Say whether the studio should be handed to another person or closed down, so the projects, clients and files your team relies on are handled the way you want.

Can I undo it?

Within the 30-day window, before the data is deleted, email hello@monaverse.com from the address on the account and ask for it back. Your access and your paused tasks can be restored. Once the personal data is deleted it is gone and cannot be recovered.

Can MONA delete my account for me?

No. Deleting an account has to be started by you, in the app, behind the typed DELETE confirmation. The MONA agent can tell you where the button is, but it has no way to delete an account. That is deliberate: a document or email the agent reads should never be able to sign you out of every device.

What it does not do (yet)

  • No self-serve data export inside the delete flow. Download anything you want to keep from your Library and projects before you confirm.
  • No transfer of studio ownership in the dialog. Email hello@monaverse.com first if a studio you own needs a new owner.
  • No confirmation email. The request received page is your confirmation.

Frequently asked questions

How do I delete my MONA account?

On the web, click your profile picture, click your @username to open Settings, then Profile, scroll to Delete account, type DELETE and confirm. In the iPhone app, tap your profile picture, choose Account settings, then Delete account.

Do I need to cancel my subscription before deleting my account?

No. If you own a studio on a paid plan, the plan is canceled as part of the deletion so you are not charged again. If you want billing to stop today, or you are not ready to delete yet, the studio owner can cancel any time from the profile menu under Manage Subscription.

How long does it take for my data to be deleted?

Your access ends the moment you confirm. Your personal data is deleted within 30 days of the request.

Can I undo an account deletion?

Within the 30-day window, before your data is deleted, email hello@monaverse.com from the address on the account and ask to restore it. After the data is deleted, it cannot be recovered.

What happens to my studio’s projects and my teammates?

Deleting your account removes your personal account, not your teammates’ accounts. If you are a member of someone else’s studio, that studio keeps running. If you own the studio and others still work in it, email hello@monaverse.com before you delete so the studio can be handed over or wound down the way you want.

Can the MONA agent delete my account for me?

No. Account deletion has to be started by you, in the app, behind the typed confirmation. The agent can tell you where the button is, but it cannot press it.

What happens to my scheduled MONA tasks?

Any recurring tasks you set up for MONA are paused when you confirm the deletion, so nothing keeps running on your behalf.

Is deleting my account the same as canceling my plan?

No. Canceling stops billing and moves your studio to the Free plan, and you keep your work. Deleting ends your access and deletes your personal data within 30 days.
