How does the MONA referral program work?
Share your link from Settings, then Refer a friend. Your friend gets their first month free (10% off a yearly plan), and you get $200 cash once they have paid for MONA for 2 months.
Quick answer: open Settings, then Refer a friend, and click Copy link. Send the link to a designer friend. They get their first month of MONA free (or 10% off their first year if they pay yearly), and you get $200 in cash once they have been a paying customer for 2 months. There is no cap on how many friends you can refer.
Who can use the referral program?
- Your studio needs to be on a paid plan. On the Free plan, the Refer a friend page and menu item are hidden.
- Use a browser. The referral page is not shown inside the MONA iPhone app. Open monaverse.com on your computer or phone browser.
- Every person has their own link. Owners, admins and members on a paid studio each get a personal referral link, so the reward goes to whoever made the introduction.
How do I find my referral link?
- Click your profile picture in the top right and choose Refer a friend. You can also go to Settings and pick Refer a friend at the bottom of the left rail.
- Under Your referral link, click Copy link. The button changes to Copied.
- Paste the link wherever your friend will see it: a text, an email, an Instagram DM, a post in a designer group.
Your link looks like monaverse.com/refer/ followed by your personal code. The code is case-sensitive, so share the copied link rather than retyping it.
MONA also offers the link at a good moment: after a render finishes on a paid studio, you may see a one-time Love this render? prompt with a Refer a friend button.
What does my friend see?
When your friend opens your link, they land on a page with your name and photo that says you invited them, and a Claim my free month button. From there:
- They create a MONA account.
- They pick a plan. The plan picker shows Invited by your first name and the discount they are getting.
- They check out. The offer is applied automatically. There is no promo code to type.
What they get depends on the billing they choose:

Your link is remembered in your friend’s browser for 30 days, so if they open it today and sign up next week on the same device, you still get the credit.
When and how do I get paid?
You earn $200 cash for each friend once all of these are true:
- They have been a paying customer for 2 months.
- They have paid at least one real invoice. The free first month does not count as a payment.
- Their subscription is active at that point.
- They have not had a refund or a chargeback.
- You are still on a paid plan when the reward is earned. If your studio has moved to Free, the referral waits and is paid once you are back on a paid plan.
MONA checks every referral daily. When one qualifies, you get an email from the founder with the subject Your $200 referral reward is on its way. Reply with your Venmo, PayPal or Zelle and the $200 is sent there.
The reward is cash. It is not MONA credits and it does not change your MONA bill.
How do I track my referrals?
The Refer a friend page shows three totals:
- Cash earned: rewards you have qualified for.
- Paid out to you: rewards already sent.
- Friends qualified: friends who passed the 2-month mark.
Under Your referrals, each friend appears with their email partly hidden and a status:

What does not count?
- Existing customers. The offer is for a brand new account choosing its first plan. Someone who already pays for MONA, or a teammate inside an existing studio, does not get the free month, and the referral does not earn a reward.
- Yourself. A referral to your own account or your own email address is marked Not eligible.
- Refunds and chargebacks. If your friend uses the 60-day money-back guarantee or disputes a charge before the reward is earned, the referral is marked Not eligible.
- Throwaway emails. Signups from disposable email services are not counted.
What it does not do (yet)
- No email invites from the page. Copy the link and send it yourself.
- No payout in credits or as a bill credit. Rewards are cash only.
- No referral page in the iPhone app. Use a browser.
