On June 11-15th, MONA hosted a hybrid hackathon that sought builders, creators, and developers to participate in an action-packed 5 day event that pushed the frontiers of what the community can do to get a piece of the $10,000 USD prize pool. With over 40 registered participants and 20+ submissions, the hackathon produced incredible 3D assets and games.
After a week of review, MONA has deliberated and selected 3 winners from the Creator's track and 3 winners from the Developer's track. Check them out below!

Top Prize - Everything is Alive by Metageist and Nico
Metageist and Nico created an immersive audio-visual experience where every NFT you bring in plays its own unique sound. Using MONA’s SDK, they’ve integrated diverse elements into a seamless interactive environment. This is beyond the tech - it shows a collaborative celebration of art and innovation. Powered by the MONA's SDK, it demonstrates how we can bring together creators from all backgrounds to craft immersive experiences that resonate across our vision of the Open Metaverse.
Honorable Mentions - Speedlink by Jesus Armando Noland
This first iteration of Jesus' racing game, Speedlink offers a speedy challenge where players navigate their avatar and an 3D object from their MONA wallet towards the finish line, all while avoiding cannon fire. For gamepad users, you can ramp up the excitement with the added ability to drop 3D objects onto the field.
Honorable Mentions - Armchair Archery by Joshua Larson & Will Canada
The Open Metaverse is still in the exciting early stages where we're just starting to shape the virtual worlds. Josh and Will have teamed up to launch this exciting XR game (Armchair Archery) which was inspired by games like Amimal Crossing and the Sims. The twist is using MONA's SDK to leverage a player's NFTs to decorate spaces in a fun and competitive way.
Besides the fun of trying to perfectly design a room - the challenges can be set up with NFT prizes and final designs that become featured on MONA itself.
